About the Event

Famous for his role as Day-Day in “Next Friday” and “Friday After Next”, Mike Epps’ career has evolved over the years and his work in both film and television continues to garner praise and admiration from peers and critics alike. This year alone, Epps has performed in two major films, “Nina”, in which he portrayed Richard Pryor and “Meet The Blacks”, a parody comedy of the 2013 film, “The Purge”. On the TV front, he recently starred in ABC’s comedy series “Uncle Buck”, based on the 1989 movie. Epps has also been cast in the much anticipated film “Pryor”, featuring Oprah Winfrey, Eddie Murphy and Kate Hudson, where he will once again play the title role of comedy icon Richard Pryor.

Sommore is one of the reigning queens of comedy and a household name in entertainment.  She was the first female host of BET’s “Comic View” in 1994. The following year she won the Richard Pryor Award for Comic of the Year. Sommore has made popular appearances in several television shows including “The Hughleys” and “The Parkers”, as well as films such as “Soul Plane” and “Friday After Next”.  In 2011, Sommore and fellow female comedians Mo’Nique, Laura Hayes, and Adele Givens were the stars on “The Queens of Comedy” tour, a sequel and spin-off of “The Original Kings of Comedy”.

Bruce Bruce – the comedian so funny they named him twice - is a name synonymous with keeping audiences rolling with laughter thanks to his larger than life comedic style.  Bruce’s steady style of comedy has been showcased across the country, and he has been entertaining audiences young and old for years. His career skyrocketed as the highest rated ever host of BET’s “Comic View” for two seasons.  He also was the two-time host of BET’s “Coming to the Stage”.

Former BET “Comic View” host Arnez J, and Felipe Esparza, winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2010, will also be performing.
