The USF Sun Dome, a Global Spectrum managed facility located on the campus of the University of South Florida, recently received a distinguished honor in the first year of operation following a $35.6 million renovation. Based upon total gross sales, total attendance and number of shows in 2012, the USF Sun Dome was ranked 5th in the nation in “2012 University Top Stops” venues with a capacity of 10,001-15,000 according to Venues Today Magazine.

After the $35.6 million dollar renovation, the USF Sun Dome celebrated their Grand Opening with a sold out Elton John show on September 14, 2012. Other events over the past year that have contributed to this milestone include; Florence and the Machine, The King’s Men Tour, Sesame Street Live: Elmo Makes Music and MythBusters: Behind the Myths Tour, among others.
